What data we collect and why

Enquiries and demo requests

When you fill in one of the forms on this site — the contact form or the Vox Maris demo form — you provide us with:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • The content of your message

We use that data solely to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to carry on the commercial conversation that follows from it.

Legal basis: your consent when submitting the form and, where the enquiry precedes a possible contract, the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into it.

This data is not stored in the website database: it is sent straight to our mailbox and stays there.

Site usage statistics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is browsed: page views, traffic sources, device type. This data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify anyone individually.

Analytics only loads if you accept statistics cookies. If you decline or ignore the notice, the script does not run and no browsing data is collected.

Legal basis: your consent.

Site security

To protect the site from unauthorised access and automated form submissions we use:

  • Wordfence, which logs IP addresses associated with login attempts and blocked requests.
  • Google reCAPTCHA on the forms, which analyses browser behaviour to tell people from bots.
  • Cloudflare, which acts as a network and security layer in front of the server and processes the IP address of each visit.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and protected.

Language preference and cookie consent

The site stores your language and your answer to the cookie notice so it does not have to ask again on every page. Full details of the cookies are in our Cookie Policy.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or pass your data to third parties for commercial purposes.
  • We do not carry out profiling or automated decision-making that affects you.
  • We do not send newsletters or bulk commercial communications.
  • The site has no user registration and no comments open to the public.

Who else has access to your data

We work with providers that process data on our behalf and only on our instructions:

Provider Purpose Where data is processed
Web hosting provider Hosting the site Outside Argentina
Google Workspace Mailbox where we receive enquiries Outside Argentina
Twilio SendGrid Technical delivery of the emails the forms generate United States
Google Analytics Usage statistics, with consent only United States
Google reCAPTCHA Form protection United States
Cloudflare Content delivery and security Global network

We may also disclose data where a legal obligation or a request from a competent authority requires it.

International transfers

Some of those providers are outside Argentina and the European Union, mainly in the United States. Those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses and the adequacy frameworks each provider has signed up to.

If you are in the European Union, note also that Argentina holds an adequacy decision from the European Commission, so transferring data to our head office is considered equivalent to the European level of protection.

How long we keep your data

Enquiries and the correspondence around them are kept for as long as the commercial relationship lasts — or the interest in establishing one — and are cleared out once it ends, unless a legal obligation requires keeping them longer.

Security data (IP logs) is kept for the technical periods each tool sets, in the order of weeks or a few months.

Cookies have their own expiry periods, detailed in the Cookie Policy.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, rectify it if inaccurate, erase it, object to our processing, restrict that processing and request its portability. You may also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

To exercise them, write to [email protected] stating which right you wish to exercise. We will reply within the periods set by the applicable law.

You can change your cookie decision at any time from the consent management link on the site.

If you are not satisfied

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may complain to the supervisory authority:

  • In Argentina: the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP) is the supervisory body for Law 25.326 and is empowered to hear complaints and claims regarding non-compliance with personal data protection rules.
  • In the European Union: the data protection authority of your country of residence.

Minors

The site is aimed at professionals and institutions in the maritime sector and is not intended for minors. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we change the way we process data, we will update this page and change the date shown at the top. We recommend reviewing it from time to time.
